Club Affiliations and Involvement: Denver boys of Leather – President and Founder; Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance - Treasurer; Colorado Gay Volleyball Association (CGVA); ManCODE, Denver Area Softball League

Community Involvement: I have been active in the leather community for about 5 years. In those years, I have helped the Rocky Mountaineer Motorcycle Club with beer busts and attended their yearly run, The Golden Fleece Run for the last four years. I volunteered for Colorado Gay Rodeo Association’s annual Regional Rodeo and I am looking forward to the International Rodeo last this year. This will be my fourth year attending Thunder in the Mountains, first time working the dungeon support crew, and second year serving as a dungeon monitor. I judged the Mr. Leather Colorado and Colorado LeatherSir/boy contests in 2006. For the Ms Leather Colorado Contest I assisted as the judge’s boy one year, and worked security for two years. I am currently on my third year as president for the Denver boys of Leather and I am proud to say I founded this group as well. Thanks to ABW for giving me the inspiration to form a local boys group! I’m currently serving as the treasurer for Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance and served as board member for 3 years. My volleyball experience was definitely a passion before I found leather. I worked on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Gay Volleyball Association for 7 years. Through those years, I was the league director for the indoor fall and spring leagues. I was Tournament directory for ‘Last Dig in Denver (indoor tournament)’ for 4 years. This tournament, sponsored by the North American Gay Volleyball Association (NAGVA), averages 25 teams nationally and locally. I also worked as the tournament director for the 4-man outdoor tournament called Volleypalooza, which is held Pride weekend in Denver, for eight years. During my tenure on the Board, I was the vice-president my second to last year, and spent my last year as president. Since stepping off the board, I’ve assisted with player ratings, coaching, teaching and certifying referees and scorekeepers. In 2007, I helped bring NAGVA Championships to Denver as a member of the organizing committee. Along with my local volleyball league, I played at the Gay Games in 2002 and the Outgames in 2006. I traveled to play tournaments in other cities like: Vancouver, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Washington DC, New Orleans, San Diego, and San Francisco. I’m a member of the Wrangler softball team for the last 7 years, with one trip to the Softball World Series hosted by the North American Gay Amateur Athlete Association in 2005.

Hobbies: I play in a gay volleyball league and a gay softball league in Denver. I snowboard when I can find the time. I collect comic books, primarily X-Men titles along with Buffy/Angel, Young Avengers & Gen13. I like going out with friends and enjoying a good beer. I like Sci-Fi, fantasy, and horror movies. I enjoy traveling and attending leather events. And I enjoy spending quality time with Daddy Don.

Why did you choose an ABW title and what would you like to accomplish during your title year? I fell in love with ABW the first time I attended in 2005. I really enjoyed the energy and feeling of the leather family that was promoted here. I returned the following year and it felt like home. I wasn’t sure what to expect that first trip, and I was still exploring what “boy” meant to me personally. I met other boys; I spent time with other boys; I learned about boy groups; I was hooked. Their energy, support, and enthusiasm inspired me to be the best leatherboy I could be. I found my place in my leather relationship and lifestyle. This is an amazing gift. Another factor that appeals to me personally is the team and family approach to the three titleholders. I played team sports since junior high school and I understand how individuals working together can accomplish more than any one person on their own. The American Brotherhood Leather Family recognizes the diversity of roles in today’s gay and lesbian leather lifestyle. I want to give back to the American Brotherhood Family by representing them locally and nationally. I will be proud to promote the boy movement and what it means to express boy heart and energy. With the mutual support of the other Leather Family titleholders, I would like to share why I fell in love with ABW in the first place.

Best ABW titleholder moment(s)? So far the best moment has been competing for American Leatherboy this year. Also, getting to kick one of the contestants out from behind the beer bust bar for making a mess!
